Why use Handmade Soap?

Handmade Soap is soap in its true and pure form. It cleanses your skin without stripping it of its natural oils.

Generally, commercial soaps are full of chemical additives. Not only do they dry out your skin but they can lead to rashes and other irritations. Handmade Soap is a cleanser made with simple ingredients that are good for your skin.

What is Cold Process Soap?

Cold Process Soap making is the act of mixing fixed oils (such as Coconut and Olive) with an alkali (Lye or Sodium Hydroxide). The result is a chemical process called Saponification, where the composition of the oils change with the help of the lye to create soap!

Cold Process Soap needs to slowly cure over time. heyJoy Soaps naturally cure for 4-6 weeks. During the first two weeks of the curing, the Saponification process is complete. As the soap continues to cure, most of the water used in the recipe evaporates. This ensures a mild, long lasting soap bar.

How should i store my soap?

To maximise the life of your soap, allow soap to drain and dry thoroughly between uses. Use of a soap dish is highly recommended.

Store in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight.
